Iconic Mount Ice Cream place, always popular and a line in the summer time. Always a token to get a photo taken next to the ‘Do not eat Ice creams in the doorway’ signs

Reasonably new, already a big hit with the Buffet style way of custom making your ice creams. Pay by the weight and make your personal favorite combinations. A bit pricier than others but is a novelty for the kids.

The real fruit Ice cream maker is nice and natural. Uses real fruit and made on the spot for that extra fresh taste. Not really a well known place for them but have been visiting for a while now.

Tucked away on a side street of the Mount Mainstreet is this little gem. Not as flashy as the likes of KiwiYo but the product is still just as good. Variety of flavors and topping. More healthier options from here not as many lolls and sugary treats which I found good for the kids.

Over in the Mount, Chinese Buffet with salads and desert available as well. Always popular and full of people, nice big open restaurant. Often go with the boys and are always stared at for being to loud.

Nice Sweet n sour pork, sushi avaliable as well as seafood, salads, desert options are awesome with a big variety. The big draw card is the oysters available wed-sun. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

Im glad this restaurant came to Tauranga after experiencing it in Auckland. Pick your meats and sauces and they cook it on a hot plate right in front of you. Other food available are soups, chips, rice and a desert range of cooked on the spot pancakes ice cream.

Little local Chinese Restaurant run by my man Karl. Basic Chinese available for a reasonable price. The thing that separates this place from the rest is the interesting topics of conversations that Karl comes up with, a sports junkie who likes to have a punt at the TAB. Great man.

Since Bureta Park has closed this place offers a buffet meal with specialty in roasts. They also have a variety of different dishes and have desert which always keeps the kids happy.

My local sushi spot in Greerton. Nice sushi at reasonable prices, my favorite from here is the Spicy Chicken. They have dishes available as well like Chicken Katsu, which they have a takeaway option for as well. Best thing about this place is that its within walking distance.

In the hub next to Tauranga Boys College. My favorite from here is the Apricot Chicken and the Dumplings. Kids like the Prawn and Rice Balls. Reasonably priced and good variety something for everyone.

Pre packaged sushi and seafood. Perfect for popping in and out. My favorite from here is the Teriyaki Chicken on Rice and the kids love the Crab Nuggets. They also have a really good Japanese brand Peach Green Tea for only $3 a bottle.

Nice Sushi restaurant more than just a quick in and out, this place puts on a sushi experience for you. Great selection with some unique varieties os sushi. The desert sushi is amazing.

On Mount main street, can order by the roll, I go for the basic Chicken Avocado.

Kids love this place but I think I enjoy the air guns more than them.

Always fun for young and old, sometimes the kids are more interested in the new games area than actually bowling.

Nice air conditioned theaters, little section of video games to play while you wait, Babies in Arms on a Wednesday morning are good value to catch a cheap movie with young kids.

Kids are a bit young for the climbing walls but they do like the glow in the dark mini putt

With numerous play areas, mini putt, skate park, train rides, mini jeep rides, estuary and an ice cream truck on hand most days. Good place to take the kids to run off some energy, always other kids there for them to play or fight with. BBQs are on hand also if you want to take some sausages down to cook up.

Nice atmosphere, TV for LIVE sports, Classy and fun girls, bar is separate from the stage so if you prefer you can just go up for a drink away from the younger crowd.

Great pub atmosphere with the locals, TAB on hand to place a cheeky bet on the races, TV screens around the bar for LIVE sports and a big screen for the big games, Pokie room to try your luck, $5 drinks during the day for a sneaky beverage on your lunch break.

Nice open bar with pool tables, the sun streams right in and on to the outside area, great selection from the kitchen, little poke room to have a dabble, nice ambience in the place and friendly staff.

Awesome music, always have great drink specials, friendly staff and security team also, good environment.

Upbeat Cocktail Lounge situated in Central Tauranga. Front indoor smokers area. Couches downstairs with a dance floor and DJ upstairs. Great bar staff who know how to make amazing cocktails. Somewhere for the grown folk who enjoy a decent drink.

Awesome Mexican Restaurant on the Strand. I recommend if dining as a group, the Fajitas. You make them yourselves and comes out on a hot plate. The chimmichunga (not sure on the spelling) is good and the Mexican beer they have there is nice as well with a bit of salt.

Nicest Turkish around, just my opinion. I always get the mixed iskender and a Turkish bread.

Nice Japanese restaurant on the Strand. Friendly staff and welcoming. Fresh Sushi and good dishes, I recommend the Chicken Katsu Bento Box.

Unique venue and atmosphere, downstairs and away from the main streets. Good range of tequilas and they have a unique way of having tequila shots where they hang you upside down.

One of the best sushi places I have been to, nice location in Mount Maunganui with a good outdoor area to enjoy in the sun. The sushi is awesome and they offer their own unique rolls as well. I recommend the Banana Roll (pineapple,cream cheese rolled in banana tempura with chocolate sauce)!
