I’m not normally a fan of museums but Te Papa wins me over every time. There’s something for everyone to find there.

"You cant beat Wellington on a good day", and what better way to enjoy it then a stroll along the waterfront. Soaking up the sun, looking out across the harbor and thinking of the unfortunate lot stuck inside the towering office buildings behind you.

Moderate walk to the top of Belmont Trig and you are rewarded with the best 360 degree views of the wellington region. From Southern Wellington, up the Hutt Valley, over to Porirua and even up to the Kapati coast. Pick a good day all you are able to see the Kaikoura ranges far to the South.

If you want to completely immerse yourself in nature then there is no better place than the Rimutaka forest park. With walking tracks leading you deep into the forest you become wonderfully submerged in nature. Reach the river and take a quick dip to cool off.
