    George Cafe
    Omanu
"If I head out to Omanu for a surf, I’ll stop in at this cool cafe. The food is fantastic because they use very fresh ingredients - everything in their cabinet looks so good, I could eat it all! But most importantly, the coffee is really, really great. I also love the funky, downmarket vibe with its old-school chairs."

    Tay Street Dairy
    Mount Maunganui
"Pete is the barista here and his hole-in-the-wall coffee is very good after taking on the peaky breaks of Tay Street."

    Sidetrack Cafe
    Mount Maunganui
"If you've been surfing the Mount's main beach, this is a great place to fuel up afterwards. The coffee is excellent. I highly recommend this one."

    Flatwhite Cafe
    Waihi Beach
"Waihi Beach is very important in my family’s history. My mum grew up there so I’ve spent a lot of time surfing the break, which means I also know where to get a great coffee. Flat White is on the beach and consistently does a good brew and a hearty breakfast."

    Waihi Beach Hotel
    Waihi Beach
"A few blocks back from the beach, this iconic live music establishment recently created a new eatery and store that opens from 7am, making it the ideal place after a dawn surf to grab a coffee and a hot breakfast from their wide-ranging menu."
