Al’s Deli is a sweet sweets heaven for me and that’s not even all the diner serves. But with their apple pie fries served with amazing caramel sauce and the rich peanut butter & chocolate milkshake, I don’t think I can be shamed for skipping straight ahead to the dessert.

Al's Deli is my new favourite place and if I could, I'd eat there every damn day. I had the buffalo chicken burger which was one of the best - if not /the/ best - burgers I've had in my life, and the Snickers milkshake was to die for. If you can get the table on the balcony overlooking Upper Queen Street definitely sit there, it just adds another level of perfection to an otherwise perfect place!

As someone who has lived in North America, one of the things I miss the most is the big dill pickles eateries add to side of burger and sandwich meals. So when I heard about Al's Deli, I was there in a flash. The menu brought back amazing memories of the Canadian -style fare that I was used to when living in Vancouver. Bagels, cured meats, donuts and poutine. I ordered The Main which was a burger filled with pastrami and mustard and of course featured a big pickle on the side. The only thing that could have been better was washing it down with a Canadian beer, but the black doris plum cider was amazing enough to make me forget all about a Moosehead brew. I will be back for more!

Whenever I have a burger craving, the crave waves are always thinking about the Al's burger with onion rings! I have my staple, burger, vege poutine and a root beer. For me, this is absolute food heaven. I usually go with my other half and as soon as the meals come out, conversation stops. What occurs next is a series of 'mmmmmm' murmurings, smiles and nods. Happy place. If you haven't been to Al's, go! You seriously won't regret it.

Another amazing lunch at Al's! I am obsessed with their vegetarian Poutine - it is seriously delicious, not to mention vegetarian, so it's perfect for my non meat eating self. Hot chips, melted cheese, curd and gravy. nom nom. The burger was on point and I washed it down with a nice cold home made root beer. Since it's the silly season, Al's are also selling home made eggnogg!!

Went here for the first time on the weekend, great vibe - delicious food, tried the delicious poutine which consists of chips, gravy, cheese curds and brisket as well as a burger with very tasty pickle. Inexpensive and flavour-packed, will definitely return once we've burned off the calories ;)

Oh Al's Deli.. I've had your doughnuts on my mind all week! I must warn you, if you aren't decisive when it comes to choosing your sweet treats, you may be at Al's deciding on your dessert for a while. I walked away with three doughnuts - a snickers, nutella and black forest. I can't choose a favourite, but I will be back to try others and give the cronuts a go!

Al's Deli - what a great experience! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. As a vegetarian, they happily removed the meat from one of their burgers and added onion rings for me, without even batting an eye. It was the best burger I have ever had, teamed with a frosty mug of homemade root beer, vegetarian poutine and doughnuts to takeaway. The atmosphere was great too, relaxed and inviting. I will definitely be back and I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
