Arthur's opened for business near the corner of Karo Dr and Cuba St at the end of last year. The owners, Mary McLeod and her daughters Anita and Ondine, named the establishment after nearby Arthur St. The three ladies are also the brains behind the more girly, Martha's Pantry, so it was a natural move to start up something opposite nearby. Arthur's is open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday to Sunday and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday.

Arthur's on Cuba is the perfect place to escape bleak winter evenings. Quirky kitsch wallpaper and decor (including taxidermy teaspoon displays) match the retro NZ -style menu. From Dunedin cheese rolls to pavlova, this place will warm your heart and belly!

Arthur’s is a cosy getaway on upper Cuba St, perfect for hiding away during wet weather. The old-fashioned furnishings – all dark, varnished wood and manmade textiles – make it feel very intimate, and the food and service is second to none.

Food and service always top quality. Feel at home here great atmosphere

You can get way more than just coffee at Arthur’s but there is a nice, crinkly serenity to sitting at their upstairs window with a long black and watching the world go by.

Enjoy a delicious brunch delivered by attentive staff whilst simultaneously stepping back in time. Quintessentially upper Cuba, Arthur’s is a real joy from start to finish. Their homemade Shepherds Pie was absolutely perfect for the rainy Sunday we went.

Wellington on a plate came and went and I was so keen to try as many burgers as I could - as it turned out I only ended up trying one and I am so happy it was at Arthur's! Not having gone there before we were uncertain where we (table of four) would be seated in this tiny little room filled with people drinking coffee and wine...but this is really a hidden little gem. Upstairs is a little dining area filled with eclectic furniture. The staff were great and the food was delicious (+ the boys luuurved their beers). Well recommended!!

I found Arthur's by chance but will definitely go there again. Not only the charming environment but also the very friendly staff make you feel at home. You'll leave as a happier person!

Quiet little quaint upper cuba eatery. The perfect place for brunch on a sunny Sunday.

This gem at the top of Cuba Street is an experience not to be missed! With an eclectic range of op shop mismatched table wear, board games and home cooked goodness - there’s nowhere better to be on a chilly wellington night when you’d like to feel at home, but don’t want to stay at home!

Talk about stepping back in time! So cute, still waiting for the food but so far I love it all, the friendly relaxed service to the selection of books and awesome decor
