The glittery sci-fi coffee contraptions are both profoundly alluring and often quite daunting. The sheer glowing intelligence of the baristas and the considered decor make this a cafe so beautiful you fear touching it in case you leave a stain.

These guys have a record player, and a record collection; and they rarely skip a beat when it comes to playing the right stuff. Best place for consuming coffee in the whole city as well.

While Customs Brew Bar seems pretty obviously the spot for coffee, and in all actuality definitely is, they also do something else really well - Mexican food! Their mushroom and bean burritos and chicken quesadillas (created and supplied by Gypsy Kitchen in Strathmore) are outrageously good. Once they even made a friend of mine with a chronic Sweet Mother's Kitchen addiction seriously rethink her choice of lunchtime dining spot. I can't get enough of the food and coffee at this place.

Coffee Supreme's Customs Brew Bar came swinging out the gate in 2010 and hasn't looked back since. Offering a rotating menu of no less than nine single origin coffees from around the world, they present these defined flavours through fantastic brewing devices like the Chemex, V60, and the SwissGold filter. If you're getting serious about your coffee, the place is a treat, and as a close as you're going to come to a boutique wine-shop style affair for coffee. And if you want a cuppa that much more conventional, their espresso through the Slayer machine is to die for.

Since coming out the gate swinging in 2010, Customs Brew Bar has been one of the premier spots for coffee in the capital. Located on Ghuznee Street (Just around the corner from Scopa), Customs is as close to a wine shop as you're going to get for single origin coffee. Generally stocking around 9-10 different single origin coffees from around the world, as well as mixed blends, it's an opportunity to sample these unique flavours through amazing brewing methods like the Chemex, V60, and SwissGold. And if you want something more tried and true, their standard blends put through the Slayer Espresso machine make for some of the most kick **** short blacks, long blacks and flat whites out.

Oh yum - mihuttiaa (Kenya) origin is the bomb - nice flavour and on my second cup for this sitting - delicious!!

Can’t go wrong with a long black and Mayer Hawthorne

Amazing coffee and bacon/egg bap to start a Saturday morning off!!

Custom make a great coffee, giving you a choice between Supreme’s smooth, cocoa-y blend or a fruitier single origin. They sell various coffee beans which have been freshly roasted (the toffee-ish Brazilian Sitio Boa Vista is a particular favourite) and all the brewing equipment you’d need to make a coffee at home (chemex, filters, buono pots etc). With lovely staff, there’s nowhere more soothing to while away an afternoon with a coffee.

Customs is Coffee Supreme's flagship coffee shop/retail store. As well as the best place to drink a coffee you can grab beans and brewing supplies for home, studio or the office
