Had heard this was THE foodhall so when we recently were staying in a nearby hotel we specifically came here for lunch one day. OMG yum. We had the best noodle dish ever and beef laksa cause we'd heard it was pretty nice. RAVE RAVE RAVE.. highly recommend this place.. only problem is trying to choose where to eat.
This is where it all started. Asian Foodcourts are now a dime a dozen but back in the days it was Food Alley that started the mania. The first time you walk in you'd be forgiven to think you've been transported to the backstreets of Hong Kong. And that's a good thing. From there you have a two floors or Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Malaysian, Cantonese and so much more of asian cuisine to choose from. Most around the $10 range. This is food that is authentic, flavoursome and won't break the bank. Trust me, go to the original, go to Food Alley.
The fact that you'll always struggle to find a seat every weekday lunchtime is a testament to just how good this place is. My personal favourites are the chicken rice on the bottom level by the escalator, and also the char kway teow, also on the ground floor. You really can't go wrong here, and best of all it won't break the bank. Let's hope it keeps going for another 20 years!
