The Garage Project is Pete Gillespie and Jos Ruffell with help from Pete’s brother Ian Gillespie. It is a nano-brewery located in an the old petrol station in Aro Valley where you can sample their brews and enjoy the industrial space which has been commendably converted.

Garage Project are committed to experimentation and so are constantly creating special things. With a much larger-scale kit now installed, their beers are making their way to more bars, more often, but the spirit of boldness and tinkering remains.

Beards and beer, need I say more? Well, I will. Garage project’s friendly crew put together an array of some of the tastiest craft beer Wellington has to offer. They have a solid ‘try before you buy’ policy, which the staff are always more than happy to indulge you in while explaining the intricacies of the brewing process. I highly recommend li’l red rye, but if thats not up your alley, they more than likely have something to suit your specific palette.

One of Wellingtons finest craft brewery’s, in the entrance to Aro Valley you will find a great little shop providing riggers of beer and selling all the great cans and bottles that Garage Project provide. Taste the drops and walk away with great beers, with all the specialty beers available here if they go to tap, alongside a rotation of their now staple brews, you should find something tasty here to suit your needs!

In the entrance to Aro Valley, garage project have a cellar door for you to come and try and buy some of Wellingtons best craft beer. You can even see them brewing it if you look next door. A wide selection of what Garage Project offer greets you with the ability to bring your on flagons and take them home, with some fish & chips from the great chip shop just up the road.

In the shallow of the depths of Aro Valley is Garage Project. One of the reigning supreme in the Wellington craft beer market, Garage Project bring some timeless classics alongside all sorts of experimental but amazing brews. Check out the rotating slew of great beers in their cellar door and take away some bottles or a rigger or maybe even two! Another one in the highly advised must go to list for wellington.

The Garage Project has quickly grown at the forefront of the continually expanding craft beer community to seem omnipresent through out the city and soon, surely, the country, but it still remains rather quintessentially only the kind of thing that could be based in Aro. Selling their delightful, nefarious beery brews out of what used to be petrol station, the Garage Project is a great Aro gem.

Garage Project not only brew a great range of craft beer but think outside the box all the time.   Excellent service from Pete & Jos.

1000 times yes, Garage Project. These local craft beer brewers brew up some wonderful wonderful beverages. With the opening of the ‘Garage Project Cellar Door’ you can come through, try some out, and even walkaway with takeaways. And if you want a t-shirt or poster, they got you as well.
