The Bristol is a pretty solid Kiwi sports pub, where you can indulge in such activities as pool, and drinking jugs of beer. Located super centrally, on Cuba street, there is no better place to kick start the party. There is a huge outdoor area, with a tonne of foot traffic, so it is bound to get rowdy.
Finest Nachos in the city, I do declare! Often my port of call when the Nacho urge is upon me. Really, really, really good. The only downer is that they take forever to arrive after the order is placed. But worth the wait! Staff have always been friendly and the atmosphere is good as long as there arent many people around.
If you’re looking for a central, no-frills pub, the Bristol’s your bar. Along the trendy stretch of Cuba mall, it’s remarkable for its absolute lack of pretension; when the keg ran out mid-jug, a barman suggested he fill it up with another brew, and seemed a bit disgruntled at my aghast response. That unpleasant episode aside, the Bristol is my go-to when I want somewhere cheap and cheerful in which to catch up with a friend on a Friday or Saturday night.
