There really isn’t much more satisfying then catching your own food and eating too. Huka Prawn Park offers exactly that. I love heading out there on the weekend, and seeing how many prawns I can catch. All the equipment you need is provided, and I can cook it up and right there and eat. There’s alos the option to take home and prepare as you like. This is a great Summer outing, and a fin way to eat seafood.

    Listen to the roar of the mighty Waikato River as you enjoy a long lunch in the sun. Great place for a family lunch in particular - the kids can enjoy some prawn fishing and huka jet whirls, while the adults enjoy a few glasses in the sun and a great meal of seafood. Great summer lunch option!

      Something for everyone in the family: prawn fishing for the kids, great restaurant selection for the foodies in the family, and a few beautiful glasses of vino for the over 18s. A great family outing, especially in Summer when you can walk along the shores of the Huka River, watch the Huka Jet zoom past, or try catch the biggest prawn of all.

        Go fishing for prawns in the warm volcanic pools - and then eat some in the restaurant. Keeps the kids amused for ages, and the prawns can get really big!

          Cool place to take the kids, heaps for them to do including prawn fishing and a fun park. Or if you’re a big fan of prawns like myself, just the restaurant alone is worth the trip. THE best prawn curry.
