A scenic bush-walk is the perfect way to make the most of the beauty of the Waitakere Ranges and to enjoy the summer sun while it lasts. This 45 minute walk to the multi-step waterfall at it's finish is a great way to get outdoors and enjoy what the surrounding regions of Auckland have to offer.

In the summertime the base of the falls makes a great place for a swim and be sure to bring a camera because the way this little spot looks too good not to take a few snaps.

Stop at the lookout and take a break on the huge Macrocarpa bench seat and admire the view. If you get lucky, you might even see a few of the New Zealand long fin eels around the rocks around the base of the falls.

Bush walk with an amazing waterfall. It can get quite busy in the summer as it is a popular tourist walk - but it is still worth doing. Great first bush walk, easy underfoot, once you have finished I can recommend a coffee at the Piha cafe and walk on the beach, maybe even head up Lion head Rock of a great view down the beach

I love this walk so much. Not only is it pretty easy going, but the view and the swim at the the base of the falls at the end of the walk is absolutely phenomenal, as is the scenery as you walk. It's only 1.8km, so it's not hard going, but it's still so nice to get out in nature and explore a bit.
