Great little place, near the trian station if you need

Great MTB park, costs $10 for a day ticket, but the season passes are great value at about $120. Good mix of trails, but because of the forestry that has happened it is a 10 min ride to get from the car park to the trail head, but it’s a good warm up. Coffee shop and shop at the base, great place to relax after a ride. The do hire bikes and helmets if you need. Dogs not allowed at the weekends - sadly.

Head down Coast rode, past the fire station and drive to the end for parking - from here there are few good walks. You can head out through the forest before returning on the beach.

Bush walk with an amazing waterfall. It can get quite busy in the summer as it is a popular tourist walk - but it is still worth doing. Great first bush walk, easy underfoot, once you have finished I can recommend a coffee at the Piha cafe and walk on the beach, maybe even head up Lion head Rock of a great view down the beach

Great place to go when the weather is not so hot! Loads of routes, suitable to beginners and expert climber - well over 200 routes to keep you entertained!
