I have just recently started going to L'assiette and the coffee is simply wonderful, every time it is perfect which is usually pretty rare. Unfortunately, I haven't yet had an opportunity to try the food. Great atmosphere and the staff are always extra friendly which makes it a pleasant experience every time. Oh and with every coffee you get a hershey's kiss which I think is a really nice touch.
L'Assiette has the sort of atmosphere and menu that will make any foodie swoon instantly. From the macarons to the French flag bunting, you know you're in for a treat when you walk in. The package is completed with the (actually) French waiters, so French in fact that they had trouble pronouncing some of the menu items. The coffee was brilliant and the food even better, everything is beautifully presented in a five-star restaurant kind of way, but with totally reasonable prices for what you get. My steak carpaccio was delicious, the little potato fondant things hot and the pesto very flavourful, and the bite I stole of my companions' goat cheese tart tasted divine. Definitely looking forward to a return visit and ticking more things off from the menu!
This cafe is super cute and I love that it is genuinely French - even the staff was French. We came here for brunch and had the brioche french toast, it was delicious! The coffee was really good too. Make sure you don't have a full bladder when you come here though as they don't have a bathroom, it was it's only downfall..
It can be hard to find a good brunch in downtown Auckland, so after a bit of wandering we eventually came across L'Assiette. The menu is not extensive but everything on it sounded great! Was hard to choose just one but settled on the 'Catalan Eggs' - which were delicious and even though the toast was on the (seriously) crispy side, I am already thinking of the next time I can have them. The service was polite and decor is fresh and clean, all in all a great spot in the city.
