New Zealand is known for its clean, green environment and if you aren’t a serious hiker and want to take on one of the tracks in the beautiful wilderness of native bush in the Kaimai Ranges, McLaren Falls Park offers a beautiful and easily accessible family-friendly alternative. The camp ground is great in peaceful lake surroundings with a waterfall and nature walks and there’s lots of wildlife in a country setting. Pure New Zealand.

A beautiful place to camp and fish, kayak, picnics, and take bush walks. The park has an amazing collection of trees which turn into a pallet of autumn brilliance at this time of year. The lake is stunning with an easy walk to a beautiful waterfall with glow worms lighting the track at night. Marshalls Animal Park is also adjacent to the park.

This is by far one of the best places to enjoy spring in Tauranga. There are usually lambs frolicking among daffidols, the smell of fresh water flowing over rocks and great trees to picnic under. Ten minutes drive out of Tauranga City the park features Lake McLaren and is a great place for a barbie and some backyard cricket. You can also camp for up to three nights.

Especially beautiful in Autumn when all the trees are so colorful.

Natural surroundings - fresh water, rocks, bush, moss - archetypical NZ

Fantastic views, great open spaces and well set up for equestrian with all the cross country fences.

A popular swimming spot with swimming holes everywhere. It is often a place to prove yourself as a young hero with the infamous jumping off the bridge. In close proximity is Poripori which is also another popular swimming hole and provides a few cliffs and ledges to jump off. Not a place to pick up for the reserved and non risk takers.

190 hectares of lakeland park with wildlife everywhere and plenty of open space. There are numerous tracks that take you in to the bush and to waterfalls. Great family time out with scattered playgrounds everywhere.
