Motel Bar

While I have visited it a few times, Motel seems to exist largely conceptually within my brain as a place that is to be aspired to rather than actually attained. There is a giggling vibration to the place, a magnesium tang of exclusivity in the air that makes it quite the place to be.

A tired and true cocktail spot for close to fifteen years now, Motel Bar never dissapoints. Whatever your fancy, they have definitely got your tastebuds quenched.

Laying claim to being the darkest bar in Wellington is a bold claim indeed, but Motel might just take the crown. A hipster joint with bartenders who know their Manhattans from their Mint Juleps, the concoction of potent liquor and the ambience of the place should mean you’ll be here for more than just the one drink.

Listed as one of the World's best bars, Motel is cocktail heaven. Still a place to come and be seen as much as for a night out. Open late, and the Long Island Iced Teas are long and strong. Sometimes a challenge to find after a few drinks out on the town, unless you know where you're going...
