New Brighton Beach is a sandy beach with good surfing, stretching 18 km from the Waimakariri River mouth in the north, to the Spit in the south.

Every Saturday, New Brighton's pedestrian mall is filled with colour and
creativity!
Come down to the seaside and enjoy, live entertainment, great food, fresh produce, arts, crafts, jewellery and more. There's also a Bouncy castle and free facepainting for the littlies.

A great beach for surfing, visiting the library and taking a stroll down the New Brighton Pier.

    Excellent, safe family beach with awesome shopping centre across the road! There is always something happening in New Brighton whether you want a leisurely stroll along the Pier, or reading a book in the New Brighton Library upstairs on the Pier. Venture along the beach and watch or join the Surfers as they ‘catch that wave’ - or perhaps take the kids fishing on the Pier. Dont forget the yearly Guy Fawkes Fireworks display :) Pack a picnic basket and enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of New Brighton
