Newtown Farmers Market is a wonderful variety of fresh and tasty locally grown produce from around the Wellington region in the carpark at Newtown Primary School.

Filled with locals wandering around with their reusable shopping bags and carts, it's best to arrive in the morning before the day heats up to get the best fruit and vegetables.

It's the perfect place to stock up before getting the rest of your things from the supermarket. You can even enjoy some live music and snacks from local gourmet stands ever week.

Stocking up on cheap fruit and veggies is the best way to set yourself in good stead for the coming week, and supermarkets in Wellington make that exceedingly expensive. Fresh produce, at unbeatable prices. If you live in Newtown, and a visit to this veggie market is not on your Saturday schedule, congratulations! Now it is!

    Located  within the ground of Newtown School, this fruit and vegetable market is a wonderful community experience. Pick up what you need for the week, and grab something warm to snack on while you're there.

      I love my Saturday market.

        If it has been one of those weeks where you feel like fresh fruit and veg has not been apparent in your diet, then why not get up bright and early Saturday and head down to Newtown. Open from the early morning hours till the early afternoon, this is the best place to go to get more ‘bang for your buck’. Each stall competing with each other for the lowest price, results in produce much cheaper than that of the supermarket.
