Oriental bay is one of the most scienic central city destinations. Look out over the harbour, and take a stroll through the Norfolk pines. There are BBQ facilities in the park opposite the beach, and you can grab a delcious gelato for dessert from Kaffe Eis.

Take a walk down the waterfront and relax in front of Wellington Harbour. Whether you’re strolling with your kids or having a relaxing day, walking around the bay or relaxing on the beach on some of Wellingtons warmer days are great ways to spend your time.

Top beach, top spot! Probably one of the few places in walking distance of pretty much everywhere in town it’s a key spot for those in search of a place for a swim during the summer months. Go check it out and have a great time!

I adore our beautiful Oriental Bay

Great Sunday morning watching the jet skis in action

Perfect for going for a casual run on a sunny day and doing a spot of people watching while you’re running past the beach areas. P.S The scenic view isn’t bad either.

Feel like a jog with some scenery, I’d recommend here!

Swimming and sunning spots, fine dining with Martin Bosley's and The White House, a cycling lane, and some of the most wonderful views. Let's not forget the tugboat cafe or the retro fondue cafe!

If Wellington is having one of it’s famous "good days" then this is the place to be. Grab an ice cream, slap on some sunscreen and relax. Swimming even in summer can be a little chilly but brilliant when it’s scorching.

Pack a picnic and hit the sand at Oriental Bay. The rocky sand means it won’t fly up and get in your food, while there’s New World on the way to grab some last-minute treats! After filling up, lie down in the sun and digest for 30 minutes before a splash in the sea.
