Staglands is home to so many beautiful animals, and it's amazing to see them in such an idyllic place as Akatarawa valley. Probably the best destination for a Vegan or Vegetarian BBQ.

    A must do for anyone in the Wellington area; Staglands is a fantastic place to go for a day with a variety of wildlife and activities for the family. A café on site for those that want a bite to eat and no shortage of engaging things to be seen, and the ability to get up close to a lot of different animals is something the younger ones will love.

      A day outing - check the weather forecast and get amongst mother nature/papatuanuku. A tad expensive on the admission side; pack a picnic (or use one of their free BBQ’s), wear comfy shoes, and don’t forget the camera!

        Nature at it’s best - pack a picnic, or use one of their free BBQ’s, and set em loose among the wild! A tad expensive on entry fee, but if you make day of it (and don’t forget your camera!), it’s totally worth it.

          Springtime means baby animals, so check ‘em out at Staglands. There’s an aviary, an eel pond, a deer park, and a stable of chicks, piglets and other baby animals. As removed from the city as it feels, it’s less than an hour’s drive from Wellington and there’s plenty of parking.

            Thanks for the great feedback Alice. We have had some new piglets and ducklings arrive in the last week, so looks like the animals are already warming up for spring! We hope to see you soon.

            The nature setting and animals at Staglands make it an ideal spot for a family day out or romantic afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Both adults and kids will love meeting the critters in the barn, a bushwalk or cart ride and a picnic or cafe lunch.

              Nothing says "romance" better than a day out patting cute animals! Ideal for escaping the city and having a day of fun in the sun.

                Such a great place for an adventure, in any kind of weather

                  If you want to get up close and personal with friendly wildlife then Staglands is the place to go.  Kids love it, it is really picturesque,  with fantastic picnic spots, free BBQ's and a lovely rustic cafe.   Overall a great place to visit with family and friends.
