Stocking up on warm beverages in advance is a must-do on any winter prep list. Whether you’re a black or white (tea drinker, that is), or more exotic still, T-leaf have you covered. Better still, you need not even brave the cold in order to obtain said tea, you can make your selection online, and they’ll send you your preference. Blended in Petone, using carefully selected teas from all around the world, T-leaf are sure to keep you warm from the inside!

In a city near-synonymous with the flat white and the long black, a couple of Wellingtonian tea purveyors have helped to ingrain tea into the consciousness of the city. Conveniently located right in the heart of the city, this tea haven is a must for us enthusiasts. Combined with more refined versions of the Earl Grey, Green and English Breakfast classics are more experimental teas sourced from literally all over the world. Whether your tipple is a Chinese Oolong, a red African Roobio or a Turkish apple, T Leaf T stocks more tea than you could ever wish to taste. Samples starting from $2 make it tempting to try though! Check out the beautifully crafted teapots too.

I love just standing in this shop and smelling all the delicious flavours they have on offer. My favourite, hands down, is Rooibos, Vanilla and Raspberry. Lovely staff too, hyped up on all that tea!

You don't have to be a lover of tea, or even drink it, to enjoy visiting TLeaf. The rows and rows of loose-leaf teas against the walls and on the floor are a spectacle for both eyes and nose. There is even a little corner where you can ask to sample some of the tea. A wondrous place to reflect on this curious and ritual beverage.

In light of the Mad Hatter's question, "Do you care for tea?" T Leaf T replies in favour. This quirky shop located in Dukes Arcade stocks over 100 different types of teas and infusions sourced from countries around the world. Tea tastings are available in store and jars of the tea leafs are scattered around the store enabling the customer to smell the aromas of the leaves. If you are an avid tea drinker I recommend popping into T leaf T, moving into the coldest time of year nothing beats warming your hands up on a steaming cup of fragrant tea. If you're a fan of green tea try the Tokyo lime, subtly infused with citrus peels and chamomile this offers a refreshing twist.
