We were here for a nice pre movie dinner with friends. The place was lovely, warm and inviting. Staff were efficient at seating us and taking our orders. The menu is huge with so many options and great tasting food! Yummy pizzas and salads are full of flavour! A great night out with good drinks and company and delicious food
Have been to Elephant Wrestler a few times now and have usually had really good service. My partner and I went a few weeks ago and this time it was a little different. yes it was busy and we could see that, however there were times where we saw some of the staff just standing around not really doing a lot...and also the food took a while to come out...again like I said we saw that it was busy so had a fair idea that it was going to be a little late in getting out our food. However the staff failed to mention this and not once did they come up to us and say 'sorry as we are busy the food will be a little bit longer than usual' if they had come out to us and said this then the wait wouldnt be so bad...but the fact that they didnt was a little frustrating.... We also had to wait a while before we even got asked if we wanted drinks. And also had to get up and get out our menus. Overall though we did really enjoy our meals it was just the wait and the unknown of when we would be served was annoying...it wont stop us going back though..but tehre is definate room for improvement Also I highlighly recommend the Sunday roast :)
The elephant wrestler doesnt have the best food in the area, but it does provide a great atmosphere and the perfect place for drinks. I have been here for many occasions including my birthday and have always been impressed. At my last birthday the botle of water on the table cracked from the change of cold to hot and our whole table was treated to all the drinks for free, great customer service!!
I started going to Elephant Wrestler around the time of the rugby world cup as we used to go watch the games there. Great location and accommodate a large group of people. I have also come here several occasions for food which is hasn't been the best, always looks amazing but can never quite get the flavours right. Always comes out rather bland. I would recommend coming for a drink and the atmosphere.
Have been here a few times and it has always been great! been in a large group one night which was very lively and fun, a bit loud but a really fun night, and the place was full. have also been for a lovely lunch with a couple of friends one sunny day. the atmosphere was fantastic, the food was great and even discovered a new delicious drink Strawberry and lime cider! YUM
This place is quite a fun crowed bar. Its got a great outdoor space and live music. I havent tried the food here but would go back to try it at some point as i have only been here when the kitchen is shut. It is in a great location - near the beach, other bars/restaurants and close to town if thats where your night is heading. Also another bonus is that the crowd is more older 20's plus
We popped into the pub after a bit of shopping on Hurstemere Road on a Saturday afternoon. We had four big kids in tow so I wasn't sure if a pub was a good spot for kids but went in, as we were all in need of a bit of a drink and something. Good decision, the pub wasn't very busy and the kids enjoyed playing pool while the grown-ups supped wine and ate the chips bought for the kids. We only had chips, which were delivered (as there were several trips) by lovely staff, but another table had food which looked like jolly good pub grub. We'd definietely go back and would be nice to go in grown-up time.
