Morning mission out to the beach? Go pick a cuppa up from the cafe - you’ll be suprised at how delicious it is.

I love the food and the chilled out people here. The soups are great and the Benedicts and heuvos rancheros are amazing! The coffee is better and cheaper than the other option, next door.

We enjoyed a 15-year reunion on Sunday afternoon at The Piha Cafe and what a delightful experience it was. I ordered the pepperoni pizza for $20 and it was spicy and delicious. When the cafe is very busy, food can take awhile to come out so prepare to be patient but know it’s well worth the wait.

Loving the look and taste of the night-time pizzas loaded with nuances of home dried herbs and freshness. The marina was extra special with salmon smoked onsite by Jean-Paul and accompanied with sweet shrimps, capsicum, spinach and feta. So yummy. Check out opening times because these can vary over winter.

Having lived out these ways for a little while - a little while ago, I’ve stopped in at the Piha Cafe a few times. And I really like it. You’ll always bump into someone you might know, the staff are the friendly locals from up the road and the food has a bit of umph to it. I love going here for pizza night with family - the toppings are so good. And for brunch with mates on the weekend. The peak of this little hub is it’s view - can’t beat a spot of coastal scenery whilst you’re sipping on your cuppa joe.

Shelter and good coffee! Good tunes and an epic view! #cafetab

Pizzas to die for!

The Piha Cafe has a new licence, which means opening hours have extended until 10pm, seven days a week. My girlfriends and I are already planning Friday night sessions at our local. If you visit during the day, the coffee and food at The Piha Cafe is well worth the 40-minute drive. My favourite way to kick-start the day is to order eggs benedict and a steaming mug of coffee before hitting the beach. With it’s rustic, relaxed vibe and seating both indoors and out, it’s the ideal place to escape the bitter, west coast wind or bask in the bright winter sunshine. There are plenty of indulgent (and healthy) menu options that are ideal for a satisfying mid-morning brunch. They also do takeaway pizzas that are so delectable, they are no longer just a local secret.

After a frolic on one of the iconic west coast beaches in NZ, the perfect place to stop for an ice cream, coffee or wine while the kids keep playing!

Gourmet food in the sun, fantastic staff and service! And at one of the prime beach locations!
