Could spend hours in here just looking at the books. Such a good range and some really knowledgeable staff.

Unity is by far Wellingtons best book shop. Great selections and staff recommendations.

While it’s obviously more expensive than the many secondhand bookstores in Wellington, you can’t go past Unity Books on Willis St for its selection. It’s so beautifully curated that you’re bound to find something to add to your wishlist, no matter where your interests lie, and it’s a great first-stop for the friend or relative who’s impossible to shop for. Moreover, the staff are fantastically knowledgeable, and can help you track down even the most obscure tomes.

Unity books is like the art shop of book shops in Wellington. Each book is carefully displayed and the shop shares the similarity of that of an art gallery. This book shop is known for stocking niche books that aren’t easily found in mainstream bookshops.

I’m not saying that Unity Books is heaven. But if anyone is shooting a film set in Heaven, I’d point the location scouts to Unity Books.

Ah, Unity Books, like a giant literature womb, warm and welcoming at the cusp of Cuba and Courtney. If they don’t have it, you don’t want it.

From serious to quirky, Unity stocks just about every book your heart could desire. It’s an ideal spot for Christmas shopping, and if you can’t decide, just grab a gift voucher!

Are there three better words to the cultured mind than books, local, and independent? Unity Books combines all three things into one dense, delightful cove of culture. From the latest VUP publications to the great classics and everything in between, Unity’s ever nice and helpful staff will always be there to help you find the most cultured and cutting edge book for your current needs.

**** there any sweeter a torture than browsing through Unity remember all the books you should have bought and read by now? Reminding yourself of all the literary culture you’ve failed to keep up with is a genuinely great way to spend a spare ten to twenty minutes in the Lampton end of town. You might even come out of it with some new reading material.

When I go into Unity, I end up either a) spending at least three hours in there browsing the huge selection of thought provoking reads or b) buy about a million books so I can read them at home. Either way I am never disatisfied by the outcome of entering this Wellington institution.
