As far as bacon goes, Waikanae Butchery’s nitrate free variety is hard to top. The 30-some years of experience in the industry translates into products of insurmountable flavor and quality. Though the hike up the coast may be off putting, the butchery often has stalls at the Sunday market on the waterfront, which means everyone can get in on the action. The chorizo is worth an honorable mention here; it makes all others of its kind pale in comparison!
