It’s a great place to stroll, enjoy the views, meet the locals, and enjoy the various artworks along the waterfront.

With a coastal strip that runs all the way along the water, Wellington's waterfront is the ideal place to hunt for Pokemon Go on a sunny day. You'll have a good chance of nabbing Horsea, Magikarp, Goldeen, Seaking, Psyduck, Tentacool, Tentacruel, Poliwag, Golduck, Dratini and Dragonair. Or head to Oriental Bay. Some local ladies were so intrepid in their Pokemon Go chase that they kayaked out to its legendary fountain in the middle of the bay to claim a gym.

Beautiful place to stop and eat, watch the boats, shop at market store, variety of delish foods

So beautiful! Great for a walk around most anytime!

Parade your pooch for the world to see along the Wellington waterfront. Not only is the walk beautiful, but you’ll be sure to attract a lot of attention which will make you feel popular. Grab some gelato at Kaffe Eis at Frank Kitts park, and check out babes on stand up paddleboards, what a treat!

We are so lucky to have such an awesome waterfront in the centre of the city. I regularly spend my work lunch breaks here in the sunshine, and loving walking and running right round past Oriental Bay.

Whether you are a local or just visiting Wellington, you can’t beat taking a walk from one end of the waterfront to another on a nice day. It doesn’t take too long and it’s a great way to experience the city.

With the sea on one side and the CBD on the other, and no traffic in sight, you can run for several KMs without having to worry about crossing crazy busy streets. Strap on rollerblades or just go for a leisurely run to battle the bulge.

"You cant beat Wellington on a good day", and what better way to enjoy it then a stroll along the waterfront. Soaking up the sun, looking out across the harbor and thinking of the unfortunate lot stuck inside the towering office buildings behind you.

There’s nothing like an affogato on a hot day, and Cafe Moana does one of the best in Wellington. The coffee cart was once a horse float, but is now something of a fixture on the waterfront in the summer months. It’s often parked near the diving platform by Te Papa, across from Mac’s.
