Grab the hand of your loved ones and go greet the animals! It's just near our home and perfect on sunny days out.

The Wellington Zoo’s school holiday problems are never amiss. These holidays they have several day programs available, all of which have different themes, such as ‘Animal ambulance’ and ‘Fantastic Felines’. These will no doubt be very special experiences for kids of all ages. Book quickly though, spots are limited.

Awww I love the Wellington Zoo and all of the beautiful, wonderful animals it houses. Hoping the other half with shout me the meerkats lunch for Xmas!

Wellington Zoo is one of the best tourist attractions in the capital city. On the outskirts of Newtown, just a 20-minute bus ride from the central city, it’s easily accessible, and on a fine day makes for a solid couple of hours’ educational entertainment for families of all ages. Check the zoo’s website or Facebook page for details of talks at The Nest surgery/nursery or animal feeding times.

Wellington Zoo’s school holiday programme is perfect for animal lovers aged between five and 12 years old. With a different focus for every day, they’ll get to meet and learn about the animals, get a behind-the-scenes look at the zoo, and learn more about its link with conservation efforts based around the globe.

A mixture of indoor and outdoor activities wise(!) but still one of the coolest places to visit with the little ones…everyone loves the zoo! They have awesome animal encounters like, cheetah, big cat, giraffe and red panda, and educational talks every half hour or so. If you’re super keen you can even do a zoo sleepover!
