Rhythm and Vines festival is the juggernaut of the New Year party scene. Held at Waiohika Estate vineyard, Gisborne it is recognised as one of the World’s Best NYE Festivals

This year it isn’t happening but it’s an annual 2 day event set in the picturesque setting of the Coromandel

The annual NYE party set on Waiheke Islands, Stoneyride Vineyard is a fixture for a more mature audience - boasting some of the best DJ’s in electronic music both international and local as well as having other genres. The team here work hard to give everyone the best possible experience - everything is well thought of from getting to the bar, toilets, food, transport to helping you find a place to crash… Good guys if your stuck in Auckland for NYE - head across to this.

For lovers of bass this is the spot - everything from DnB, Dubstep and Hip-Hop with a line-up of acts both international and the very best in local.

Run by professional trainers who have competed in multiple disciplines - these guys can back up what they say. Headed up by Eugene Bareman, Karen Coutts & Doug Viney you will also find professional athletes from All Blacks, The Blues Rugby Team, Warriors (League), professional athletes & celebrities pushing their bodies to the limit.

I haven’t personally been to one of the classes but what it has done for a lot of mates is more than impressive. When they use to shoot the TV series Spartacus this is where they got them chiseled. One of the trainers is League Great Rueben Wiki - so you know it’s real

In my humble opinion the best Yum Cha spot in Auckland… This spot packs fast, so get in quick to enjoy

You don’t have to travel all the way to the City for great Yum Cha - just past the Monastery on Chapel Road is Star Cafe

If you like it hot & spicy - try the Gai Fai. Definitely one of my favourite Thai Restaurants. To ease your way into it - make sure you order the Ribs as an entree. Delicious!

Nothing like working up a sweat over some hot curries… My fav is definitely the Chicken Tikka Masala (HOT)
