Foodie shops
- 16On Trays Food EmporiumPetoneIt is filled with food, when I say filled I mean isle dodging. They ask you if you would like a coffee on the way in and you collect a free cup by the cheese. The cheese is cut to your liking and can be tasted. The place is just marvelous.
- 24I love buying fresh spices by the scoop, smelling that smell of India and the samosa are well worth taking home.
- 31Thorndon New WorldThorndonEverything a supermarket should be with the best staff. Often have a good soundtrack on too.
- 43Davis Trading WellingtonPetoneActually in Petone. Not just Asian supplies but Italian/European and Mexican too. Love to buy the big bags of rice and a strange looking random treat.

Can take the Miss10
- 15Satay KajangWellington CentralMiss10 will jump through hoops for the Mee Goreng, mild , no seafood. Love the roti, the fresh cooked stuffed with egg and onion is a must try.
- 27K SingPetoneI shouldn’t tell you about this place as I don’t want to share really but that hurts my inner foodie. You need to book in the evening, it is BYO beer and wine. We go for lunch on a Saturday and love the fresh and tasty food. Not going to recommend a dish as you should just try them all. A walk to the outside loo takes you through the kitchen, great for a nose around. Warning, the portions are huge.
- 32Yes, it is in Tawa but parking is easy. Tawa has a couple of little gems and this is one of them. They have an excellent 3 course plus a drink kids meal. It is a real menu without the fried rubbish. The grown up food is excellent too and they know how to do spice. I love their Chicken Laab.
- 41If you haven’t been, you must. I particularly love their weekend brunch masala dosa and the husband loves the chicken biryani. Miss loves the roti and the chicken tikka masala. The roti are very fresh and very cheap. It is not the prettiest place but the service is lovely.
- 52Particularly like this one as it is next to a great pub. The interior is lovely, not reflected on the outside. The pizza is delicious and the kind that you finish and consider ordering another but know you would die if you did.
