    This swimming pool is really impressive, the kids will love it! Complete with hydroslides it's a great way for the kids to burn off energy especially during the winter. You can easily spend the whole day there!

    We came to Cobblestones last week and had such a great time! Being a mostly outdoor museum it was great for my 4 year old to be able to run around and go on an adventure into the different buildings that make up the museum. It will be something we visit again and again!

    This is a great little library! My daughter is a real bookworm so we visit the library on a weekly basis. They have a great range of books in their kids' area and do a weekly kids club so it's a top spot for the school holidays.

    Don't miss this little library, it's a well kept secret! While it is small it has a great range of kids and adults books. We have also started going to their reading group for pre-schoolers on a Wednesday which my daughter loves! They also have free wifi, computers you can use and photocopying services.

    What kids don't love going to the movies in the holidays! This theatre also has a real charm to it too. It's a great activity that the kids will not be disappointed by especially as winter is approaching!

    If the family want to get out of the house on a rainy day take them to play some mini golf! The course is inside and there is always plenty of car parking out front. A great family fun activity to burn off some energy!

    Daytona Indoor Go Karts - Palmerston North

    If your kids are over the age of 7 take them to Daytona so they can zip around the track at Daytona! Mum and Dad can join in too and see who is the ultimate race champion! With a range of different carts there is one to suit everybody’s age and ability. Helpful staff and great safety equpment means that everyone will have a great time be sure to book in advance!

    Because it is winter now and the kids are stuck inside pop down to the Lido so they can burn off some energy! Let them zoom down the water slides or splash around in the toddler pool and they will come home nice and tired! With a fully equip cafe you can have a coffee and watch your kids have a blast in the pool or jump in with them!

    Owlcatraz Native Bird and Wildlife Park

    If we get a fine day these holidays take a drive to Owlcatraz in Shannon. Pack the gumboots and get up close to their resident farm animals! The kids will love Jonah Low Moo the bull, Owlibaba the Alpaca and Oha Kune the pig! Their family of owls who have names like Owle Macpherson and Owlfalfa the day is sure to be entertaining! The staff know how to keep the kids engaged and there are many oportunities for some great photos to remind you day the kids will never forget!

    Going to the movies has been and always will be a school holiday staple! It's not just about the movie it's about the popcorn, the choc dipped icecreams and the way the lights dim when the movie is about to start! I can't wait to take my daughter for the first time this week!

    This is my favorite coffee spot in Masterton! The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious and the staff are lovely. The cabinets are filled with beautiful cakes, breads and pastries. You can imaging the amazing smell that greets you, great coffee, great food, it doesn't really get any better!

    This is our go to coffee shop in Woodville, all of the food is great quality and the prices are very reasonable. They make my latte exactly how I like it and my daughter loves their fluffys' with extra marshmallows! They also make a great breakfast and a roast lunch!

    This little cafe has a great garden dining room filled with citrus trees, which is amazing in the summertime. They make a great eggs benedict and have a great selection of herbal teas. This is a great coffee spot if you are passing through woodville, the locals love it too!

    Rosebowl is Feilding's top lunch spot! With huge cabinets filled with every kind of sandwich, pie and cake you could think of. The spacious cafe is always full of locals having coffee or grabbing something for lunch. The food is always fresh and delicious, I especially love their lamb and mint jelly sandwiches and the blueberry tarts!

    This is an all round awesome bakery, all the food is good and the prices are reasonable. They have real fresh cream in their doughnuts which is the best way to have them!

    This bakery proably has the most generous servings of yummy food in Palmy. Their carrot cake is delicious and so are their homemade sausage rolls. You will see a line out the door at lunch time!

    Salt Streetfood have the most delicious steak sandwiches, you can find them at all of the big festivals, markets and events in the Wairarapa. It's a great healthy lunch idea when you are at these events where it can be hard to find anything other than chips and hotdogs!

    This brand new eatery in the center of town is home to the most amazing fresh salads and smoothies that everyone is raving about!! If you are after a healthy lunch at work or something quick to take home for dinner this is the hottest spot in Palmy! They also stock the best raw organic chocolate which is a great treat for after your amazing meal!

    I stumbled upon The Sushi Shop this week, I was blown away by all the different varieties of sushi they had displayed in their cabinets! Not just the boring chicken and avocado rolls here! My husband was convinced he hated sushi until we came here. It’s a great cheap eat for summer you can fill yourself up with less than $15 easy, although it will be tempting to try everything!

    We visited this week and had an amazing homemade pie from their cabinet. The coffee was lovely and the decor is fun! The staff are friendly and they are also the first cafe in the Manawatu to pay their staff a "Living Wage" which I am more than happy to support!

    If you want something fresh, tasty and good for your New Year's resolution to lose weight you need to go to O'Brien's. Choose from a salad or a sandwich and add everything you want into it. This is a truly unique place to eat because you can choose exactly what you want making it easy to fit in with your diet. A great vegeterian or vegan option too!

    I have been many times it is so peaceful and quiet with beautiful gardens to explore, the kids will love finding the little fairies and gnomes hiding among the flowers! Stop in for a great lunch in their onsite cafe, visit their beauty spa or take home one of their handmade body products from their gift shop! Their Headache Balm is fantastic!
