I come here for a few quiets on random weekends and its great. Its not too packed and you can actually talk to someone without having to yell at them! There is also a small courtyard outdoor area, which is great during summer. They have plenty of seating as well. Great place to have a few drinks if you're going to the Powerstation across the road for a gig.Staff are alright, could be a bit more cheery! Toilets could do with an overall though.

Awesome :)

Great range of beers, although a little pricey. They even make their own beer on site, and you can watch it foaming away in vats. They have a classic and old world classy pub atmosphere to it, and they are always busy. They have free parking too - you just have to remember to get a parking pass from inside and take it back to your car. They do good fries. A good staple in Eden Terrace.

Awesome :)

This place is awesome! It is one of the best old skool pubs in Auckland. Good hearty food you'd expect from a pub like this. And all at a reasonable price. The range of beers here is awesome as well, a really good wide selection. Great place to relax on a Friday afternoon. I take my boyfriend here all the time and he absolutely thinks its FABULUOUS! We spend all night rubbing noses in the corner :)

Super :)

No cocktails here, just a huge selection of beers and some good hearty good. I had the lunch sausage and mash dish and it was nicely presented and very tasty. Part of the alehouse is taken up by their own brewery and the bar area has high vaulted ceilings and traditional decor. It also has a nice outside area.  A great place to come with a group!

only had time for one drink, would have liked to have stayed longer its such a cosy place. food looked good! Good to see old pubs staying put, and re-vamping with the times!

The aptly named Pile Driver... I think this may be quite new on the menu at Galbraith's (at least I've never seen it before and I visit Galbraith's at least every couple of weeks). If I'm ordering food at a pub, I have a hard time going past a burger therefore, for someone who visits pubs fairly frequently I've munched my way through a fairly diverse range of meat-in-bun meals.  This qualifies me to say... What an awesome burger! All the good things in a pub burger in generous portions, loads of cheese, loads of gherkins, loads of chilli sauce, and a thick juicy beef patty. Burgery heaven. And if you're not convinced by my opinion, I was at a table of five having lunch  - the Pile Driver was the winner, they all had food envy.  It's worth noting it's standard practise to get a side of fries/chips with a pub burger but this isn't the case at Galbraith's... if you want chips you have to order them as a side (extra) - the staff member let me know this when I was ordering. I was fine without, it was only lunch and a decent sized burger is plenty enough food for me, without the risk of needing an afternoon snooze under my desk. I think given they didn't appear to be super-busy the meals could have come out sooner, so not quite 5 stars, but worth the wait. Washing it down with an Emerson's IPA while sitting in the sun on their top deck... in the middle of winter no less! Galbraith's delivers again.

Sounds super :)

Galbraith's has remained a family favourite for years now for a catch up over an artisan-brewed pint or two and a decent bite to eat. Traditionally I've found the food to be top notch here though I must say on a recent occasion I was pretty underwhelmed - safer to stick with the sausies and mash and pies, I think, than risk the decidedly middle--of-the-road burgers and chips. Also on a preious visit I was disappointed the staff declined to light the outside fire on a cold winter's afternoon, even though we had a huge table of about twenty of us up on the roof - pretty sad, really. Otherwise I'm always up for a visit to this city-fringe gem - there ain't nothing else quite like it in this city.

If your after a fine ale and warm pub atmosphere Galbraiths is the place to be. Try the ‘Munich’ it delicious

Nice :)

The beer at Galbraith's is fantastic, lots of different choices and more unusual flavours. however the food in recent months has deteriorated; with prices being very hihg, portions small and the overall impression underwhelming. Shame for such an iconic pub in Auckland.
