Galbraith's was always a great place to visit (amazing beers, great food) but during the RWC they've got big screens to watch the matches on. The atmosphere is slightly less hectic than some other bars, and the superb beers on offer make it a great place to watch the games. Plus they have a good DJ on after any Eden Park games.
Definitely the best brewpub in Auckland and quite possibly the best in New Zealand. Excellent brewed-on-the-premises beers, plus an interesting array of guest beers from around New Zealand (and even farther afield). For expat Poms seeking Real Ale, this is as close as you're going to get to the motherland. For lovers of NZ craft beer there's also plenty on offer, with regular taps pouring beers from Croucher & Yeastie Boys as well as other guest breweries. The food is also superb, with great versions of pub food classics like bangers & mash, up to more adventurous and classy dishes such as lamb shank rogan josh. In a way I'm glad I don't live close, because if I did I'd never leave!
Galbraith's is such an easy place to organise a gathering of people - they have awesome big tables both inside and out in either their bricked courtyard or upstairs deck. There's a huge range of beers including their own range and tasting racks of that are pretty popular. Full food menu includes my favourite - the garlic bread which comes as a seeded loaf you can rip apart and share.
If you're into beer that's different from the norm then you should check this place out. Galbraith's not only brews their own superb selection of beers but they also have a great selection of other local craft beers. If you're after food you'll be sweet, as these guys have a great pub-style menue with all the classics.
