Located in Botany Downs, Star Cafe is a popular Chinese eatery serving yum cha and an extensive dinner menu of authentic Chinese meals. One of three branches in Auckland, the Botany restaurant is popular with the local Chinese community.

Meals are reasonably priced and full of flavour while the friendly staff offer service with a smile. Suitable for large groups, you can enjoy regular deals and promotions including discounts midweek.

This restaurant has a beautiful range of seafood dishes, Chinese dishes assorted meat n vegie steamed dumplings etc. Best restaurant in south Auckland

    I like to eat here with my family, not only for the food but also because there is lots of room between the tables. This allows for easy wheelchair access. #shoutme

        Dumplings get in my belly! While I haven't yet had a chance to sample the delights of Star Cafe Seafood Restaurant in Botany for myself because I live so far west, my friend who has lived in the south-eastern suburbs for most of her life swears by this restaurant. She said I must include it on my picks for Auckland's top 5 yum cha because the dumplings and steamed buns created at Star Cafe Seafood Restaurant are the best in the business. She goes here at least once a month and never for a special occasion. Instead, it's all about getting her fill of these delicious Chinese delicacies. That's why it's firmly at the top of my wishlist. I look forward to seeing you there!

            You don’t have to travel all the way to the City for great Yum Cha - just past the Monastery on Chapel Road is Star Cafe

              We have been here a few times, however we usually go to a different one. Today we came here as it closes a bit later than our usual.. We ordered the same items that we get at our usual.. The food is good.. Almost as good as our usual but not quite there. 

                Busy busy place so worth making a booking, not the cheapest but great food and speedy service.

                  We have been to a few yum cha restuarants around Auckland and was well impressed with the quick service, the open space and of course the delicious food. We will be back again!

                    I wouldn't say this is the best yum cha place in Auckland -- but it's the best in East Auckland :-) Delicious dim sum and the service and usually quick and fair friendly. Definitely give it a go and see how you like it :-)
