The pride and joy of the North Shore - Takapuna Beach sums up everything it means to have a Kiwi summer.

A beautiful view out to Rangitoto island, a deep blue sea and long stretch of white sand make this place a local hotspot.

Only seconds away from the Takapuna shops and ice cream - it is a haven for swimming, walking, sunbathing, socialising or just chilling.

The beach is perfect for a half an hour walk. The sand is nice, not too many shells so you can walk barefoot. You can have a picnic and enjoy the beautiful view of Rangitoto.

Takapuna is really coming in to it's own now and the beach is the best point of difference. The long stretches of sand are complimented by the warm water, best place to paddle board or wade in for an afternoon cool off. With the abundance of restaurants and bars popping up you can have a dip and then stroll up for a glass of rose -nothing better!

Nice place to have fun with fri

Cool spot for swimming

Couldn’t help but add relaxing at the beach in the sun with a great selection of cafes and facility’s over looking Ragatoto!

Great for walking along it. Good place to go.

So many dogs here during the mornings over the weekend <3

Some much to love about Takapuna beach. Me? I like to cycle there from the CBD via the Devonport Ferry, then relax on the beautiful long beach with an ice cream. But there is lots of paddle boarding and watersports activities there to keep you entertained

With a whole heap of new local eateries popping up with gorgeous views of the endless ocean that stretches all the way to majestic Rangitoto island, this gorgeous beach stop is on my must-do summer hit list. Strolling casually along its fine white sands is food for the soul and, even though it's just over the Bridge, it's a world away from the frenetic pace of Auckland City. That's why I keep falling head over heels in love for this stretch of sand because every visit is always a shore thing!
