    Tastes Of The UK
    Milson
They have bon bons and jaffa cakes! As well as some other favourites that you may need an acquired taste for such as haggis and Irn Bru. It's fair to say my purse was a lot lighter when I left and my belly was a bit bigger after I finished off all my treats from home.

    Barista
    Palmerston North Central
Popped in for high tea at Barista with my sister and absolutely loved it. All of the waitresses dressed up in traditional dresses while the interior was gorgeously decorated with fine china and gorgeous table cloths. The food was more than plentiful even with the small sizes of sweet treats.

    La Patio Cafe & Bar
    Hokowhitu
For a grand old time with the girls, head to The Coachman's La Patio Cafe for a fancy high tea on Sundays. The bite sized morsels were dainty and delicate, and the little details that the staff included made it all worthwhile. Dress up and make an afternoon of it!

Rose And Crown Olde English Pub
    Palmerston North Central
Whenever I visit the Rose and Crown it's like I stepped back into my local pub down the road in Brighton! They even have a couple of Yorkshire beers on tap which go nicely with the traditional burger and fries they serve up. Brings back so many memories and well worth dropping by for anyone homesick.

    Petit Fours
    Palmerston North Central
Went to Palmerston for a wedding and the girls all went to high tea at Petit Fours. Wow! Been to a couple of high teas now in the city and this was one of the best. We were served by Chelsea and Abby who assured us that all their cupcakes and savoury and sweet items were hand made by themselves. A truly great day out.

    Chaddy's Charters
    Moturoa
Chaddy is a character and a half! Chugging out of the port around the islands in his old English lifeboat was one of the coolest things we did in the Naki. Heaps of seals were lounging on the rocks and when we weren't watching the wildlife, Chaddy was keeping us entertained with stories that have to be heard to be believed. And even then they are quite unbelievable.

Tawa Glen Cafe Garden & Gift Centre
    Lepperton
Came during winter which made me miss home even more as it was blustery and wet outside. Was happy to see the owners had the fire roaring and our high tea was set up at the table alongside it. Couldn't have been better.

The Tea House on the Lake
    New Plymouth Central
I've been to 2 high teas on my travels around Taranaki and I'm not sure which is better! Love coming here though as you get to sit next to the beautiful lake and sip on your tea while downing delicious cakes.

    Sweet Life
    Fitzroy
I felt like a kid in a candy store when I popped into Sweet Life. Which is ironic considering it is a candy store, but you know what I mean. Having a sweet slice of home in the shape of hard candies like bon bons is my dream. Fair to say I nearly bought the whole jar off the shelf! Love all the decorations and colours inside too.

    IN.GRE'DI.ENT (Ingredient Cafe)
    Martinborough
Wining and dining couldn’t be finer in the Wairarapa. Ingredient is one of the places all the girls like to go when we get together for a weekend in Martinborough. Although they only serve high tea on the weekend, and you have to book, it’s well worth it as their scones and cakes are divine.

    Tirohana Estate / Tirohana Vineyard
    Martinborough
My friend had her wedding at Tirohana vineyard and as part of it we all stayed a few days before the wedding. Of course we had to have the High Tea the day before the wedding and they treated us like princesses. It’s fair to say that after a couple of teas and sweet treats we had to enjoy some of their wines too!

    The Grill at Solway Park
    Solway
When my boyfriend said he would take me out for a late lunch I thought we were just going to go and have a big burger down at his favourite pub. Instead he treated me to the Grill restaurant at the hotel in Masterton! OMG it is amazing. The stacks of scones, cakes and creamy delights while sitting on the deck was the perfect romantic gesture from him.

    Catherines Kitchen
    Greytown
This place is just too cute. We were driving through Greytown on our way to Wellington and stopped in here for a mid-morning snack. Couldn’t resist their High Tea after seeing another couple get it at the table next to ours. Along with the cakes they have a few delicate sandwiches and their hot chocolates are delicious.
