Whenever I want to splurge a bit on a meal I come to Flying Burrito Brothers. This place is fantastic! From the awesome little underground restaurant, amazing frozen cocktails and great service this place has it all. I always order the chicken fajita, can't go past it! And the banana chimichangas are so good too :)

Not far from the uni in the city this place is great for when your brain's getting overloaded and you need a break!

This is the best place for a friendly, casual BYO in the city. With a range of Asian meals on offer, Cinta delivers not only fantastic food but at a great price and with a smile :) the pad thai is the best ;)

For a delicious breakfast, there is nowhere better than Floriditas. Cute little cafe with a great range of food.

Strawberry Fare is amazing!! I come here just for the dessert alone, and always make sure I eat no dinner beforehand because these desserts are huge. I can recommend the banaffi pie, the caramel hazelnut torte, the creme brulee, the warm raspberry drenched chocolate cake and the blackforest tower! All so good.

This cute little French cafe offers up great tasting food in a beautiful little spot. All staff seem to be French and it’s quite cool hearing them all talk to each other. I’ve only been here for breakfast but hear that it offers up great food any time of the day.

I always seem to nab the last table at Frolic, usually outside on the pathway sitting in the sun. The staff are efficient and the food is tasty. Also, if you like the art on the walls, most of it is for sale so feel free to ask!

Stumbled across this cafe on the way in to town and decided to stop off. The theme is great, all Kiwiana. Customer parking down below makes it easy to visit too. Staff are super friendly and food is tasty. We had the muffin and wrap from the cabinet, very impressed!

A Ponsonby institution, it may be better to come here in a weekday when its not as packed as a Sunday morning. The tables upstairs are a bit quieter and offer a great view down to the road. I always order the purple chicken bagel because it just so good!

This cafe is a bit deceiving because when you walk in it looks a little small but once you go up the stairs there are plenty of places for you to sit, inside and outside. Offering great cabinet food, this place is perfect for a lunch break from work.

Wok’n Noodle offers up fast, fresh, healthy, tasty meals! The staff are super friendly and one time when they took a little longer to get me my food they gave me a free drink while I was waiting which was awesome of them. I can’t go past the chicken cashew, or the banana coconut curry!

After replacing my favourite GPK I thought I should try it out and see if this spot on Ponsonby Road would still be a regular for me. This place is great!! Fantastic Malaysian food with all sorts of exotic ingredients. Best to go in a large group so that you can order heaps and share, also dishes come out at random times.

Best dumplings ever! And so so so cheap. They’ve revamped this place to make it a bit more friendly but food still tastes the same.

A family owned business, Thai House serves up fantastic, authentic Thai food in the heart of Ponsonby. Servings are big and the staff are so friendly.

After only hearing good things about this place I decided to head along and was not disappointed. This is another place where it is better to go in a big group so you can try everything. The portions are enormous! Make sure to book a table in advance, and even bring a bottle of wine for BYO!
