Situated on Kohimarama Beach in Auckland, Café on Kohi has recently completed a $200K refurbishment. The result is a wonderfully relaxing venue on the beach for dining, coffee, or to enjoy a glass of wine at sunset.
The menu is more usual than the standard with dishes like chicken livers, which is surprisingly tasty and tender. Although there are a few staple favourites that made the cut like porridge for a good ole Kiwi breakfast with coffee.

You haven't lived until you've tried a gelato milkshake from Cafe on Kohi. This is a very popular spot on the main drag in Mission Bay and it's all because of their incredible and varied menu. If you don't like to rock out the usual B 'n' E for brekkie then this is the place to come. Try the chicken livers, you'll fall in absolute love for this dish, just like I did.
I always run past here on my morning runs and the smell of bacon, freshly baked bread and roasted coffee drives me insane. You need to get in early to grab a seat, always busy even on rainy days! The reason for the crowds, yes you do have the best view in auckland, but also stellar service and amazing food and the all important coffee!
The staff at this sweet little café are so friendly. It’s right opposite the beachfront at Kohimarama and has big French doors that open up the whole front of the cafe! They have good baristas and serve an excellent selection of little cakes and treats. There is a bakery next door that make fab croissants and if you pay for one through the café, the staff nip over and get it for you, providing butter and jam to go with. Sweet delicious butter flaky yumminess.
