The Jack Tar’s outside seating on North Wharf would have to be some of the most desirable on a sunny day in the city. The place is busy enough to give it a ‘place to be’ vibe, but not so hectic that it makes your seaside/wharf beverage sipping session unenjoyable. All the classics are on tap with a few very nice Australian beers to mix things up. The food here is great too - I would call it…’comfort food with flair’…very delicious.
Beautiful deco, friendly staff and service. Delicious chips! Instead of the normal skinny fries I got thick cut potatoes. My fish burger was a tall turret that I had to deconstruct before I could tackle it. The fish was a bit under-seasoned but the beer battered crust was very crunchy, $19.90 for quite a huge meal at Wynyard Quarter is not too bad of a deal.
Went here on a beautiful sunday afternoon for a late lunch, and had a delicious pizza. It was meat lovers, but it was a hard choice in amongst a bunch of other great looking options. The vibe in the whole area was great, mixtures of young families, older couples and groups of friends. Definitely one of the best places to go in Auckland
