It's the most amazing, inspirational place for anything DIY and the staff are always friendly and helpful.. Awesome...!.

I'm a lucky lady in that I've got a handyman at home so building and renovating is a regular weekend activity for us. Whenever we need to go somewhere to get the broadest selection in Auckland, we head to the monolithic Mitre 10 Mega in Henderson. The lads in the timber yard provide fast, efficient service and it's a great place to go if you are making over your outdoor area because there's also a gorgeous garden centre with a cafe so that you can stop and have a coffee before shopping for herbs and veges. My husband loves all the knick-knacks and building supplies that are housed in this large warehouse. And if you need bedding or cushions, Mitre 10 Mega has this too. Just remember to work off a tight budget or, like me, you'll find yourself at the check-out spending more than you meant to but then I guarantee you'll leave with a large smile on your dial because this place is retail therapy for the DIY lovers!

Mitre 10 Mega has so much stuff you could get lost. Think it's great there is a playground and cafè so on the weekend when I am there with the family I can send the kids to the playground and the Mrs to the cafè and I am left to explore the store undisturbed... For a little while anyway. I find the staff to be really helpful and friendly - know some by name and find their service top notch.

Gotta love a Mitre Ten Mega.

My partner & I decided to fix a few things up around the place so headed out to Mitre10 Henderson. Wow first off there's a ton of great parking.  Then you almost need a map when you walk in ( if you can get past the cheapie deals before the door). We had some fences to fix so went & looked at wood & trellis options.  So much choice it was hard to decide which way we should go.  Then we looked at plants in the nice sized garden centre.  The staff were fabulously helpful.  And the bargains were amazing out here.  We stocked up on herbs, flowers and even a few shrubs.  We also got 3 huge black planters to put my new cameilas into.  Such a good price too. After all that decision making we went to their wonderful cafe in the centre of the store and had a superb lunch.  Well worth the journey here even just for lunch.

Since buying our first home recently, we have become regulars at this Mega 10. We have always found the staff to be helpful, friendly and efficient. They have a great range of products at very reasonable prices, the only problem is, we often find ourselves leaving with 5 times as many things as we went in for!  We went to find paint testpots today, and they didn't have the colours we needed, but the women behind the counter was very happy to make them up for us. She was very pleasant about it. It's worth doing this, as you get a 250ml sample pot, instead of the little 85ml test pots, and they are even slightly cheaper. They can only do certain colours this way however.

If you need anything to help with DIY, you can pretty much guarantee you will find it here, and generally, for a reasonable price.  If you need a bit of advice, I have found the Managers of each Department to be knowledgeable and helpful.  There's also a good indoor playground to keep the kids entertained while you shop.
