Come in from the cold and into Carvin Streetwear. It’s freezing outside so there is only one thing on my mind … merino. Carvin Streetwear not only have trendy threads but they have uber stylish coats and jackets made from beautifully warm merino wool.

My Mum and I love D’Coy for their sophisticated and stylish clothing for young and mature women. They have gorgeous dresses in a whole range of superb colours and they have stock arriving weekly to keep you up with the local, national and international trends!

This place rules for a few different reasons … 1. The owner Julie will blow you away with her enthusiasm, knowledge and love for clothes; 2. The variety of clothes on offer means you’ll be guaranteed to find something that looks amazing on you. I personally can’t get enough of their awesome international brands which are hard to find elsewhere in Southland!

Whenever I’m in Gore I like to head to Playmates for their modern clothes for their young and stylish clothes. For the fashion-conscious amongst us, Playmates has a really great selection of clothes for the home and office - their mini dresses never disappoint!

A dog park that’s not only great for pooches but their owners too! The park has loads of facilities including a water supply, dog doo depot and seating.

A fantastic dog grooming service, there’s not a lot Zag Dog Grooming won’t do for your dog. These guys make sure your little pup is comfortable whilst getting pruned and primed.

A great wee spot for taking the dog for a walk or a run, Green Island Dog Park is a favourite outdoor space of mine. The lush and green area is well fenced and there is even an obstacle course!

If you’re passing through Mosgiel and staying the night, let me introduce you to pet-friendly Longbourne Lodge Motel. The Willow Meadow at this motel has been created just for dogs to run around without a leash, and there are dog shower facilities here too!

Keep your dog in check and send him / her to Images Dog Training. Nicky Rutherford is a highly experienced and wonderful trainer so your pup is in great hands!

Need to groom your dog? Take her to Posh Paws for a superb service. I love this place because the staff are super friendly, knowledgable and they love dogs!

The Groynes have a dog park which is one of the best in Christchurch. I love taking the pooch for a run in the wide open spaces, and there is three dog agility courses! There’s a great BBQ and picnic area for those sunny days too.

When I fancy a run around with my furry four legged friend I head to Styx Mill Conservation Reserve Dog Park. There are loads of space, trees and two small ponds to play in too!

This self-service dog wash is always a great laugh. Watching my pup have a good wash down is always a treat for him and me, and it’s a bargain for $10 for 12 minutes!
