    A quick, family-friend drive from Queenstown, The Remarkables is my favourite place to ski. As just a beginner in the world of skiing and snowboarding, a feel safe and supported at The Remarkables, which means it’s a great place for the kids to learn to ski!

    Snow Farm
    Wanaka
    Learn to cross-country ski at Snow Farm. Great for beginners to advanced skiers, this family friendly activity is really fun! And the best bit? There’s a tubing/sledding hill and snow caves – what’s not to love about that?

    Get the kids learning to swim at Wanaka Pool. For you there are aquafit classes, and for the kdis there are inflatables! Great for all ages, the Wanaka Pool is always a great holiday activity.

    A favourite place to spend time with the family, Ferrymead Heritage Park is an interactive and fun environment. I love the ‘step back in time’ atmposphere, and a ride on the train is a must!

    I love the Imagination Station – it’s a play and education centre with loads of lego. Great for the young and old! The play area is always bundles of fun and there are birthday packages for the little kiddies to enjoy too.

    For a fun and relaxing time with the family, head to Arion Farm Park. There are loads of farm animals and the opportunity to learn the history of New Zealand. A great place for a picnic and BBQ too!

    A discrete neighbourhood bakery in the heart of Sockburn, expect big things from my local! Their bread is made fresh every day and goes towards making the best and biggest sandwiches. I love the biscuits and hot cups of tea you get whilst you’re there.

    This famous Christchurch bakery used to call the central city home, now it’s located in Harewood. Bigger and better than ever, I love their hot pies which come in two sizes (big and small!) and the large cafe area for hanging out with friends. This place has only got better with time.

    Redwood
    A neighbourhood cafe with a difference, Redwood is definitely one of my favourite bakeries in Christchurch for their massive cakes, pies and biscuits - you will not leave feeling hungry here. I love their pastries too!

    A local bakery which isn’t my local but I love visiting it anyway! The service here is promptyand always with a smile. Highlights include the ever changing selection of sweets including lamingtons and meringues to afghans and cheese rolls which makes it very hard to choose!

    If you love sausage rolls then you’ll love Temptations Bakery. This Oamaru bakery is a favourite of mine for its large and delicious sausage rolls and home made tomato sauce.

    For coffee and baked goods in Fiordland there’s only one place to go … Fiordland bakery. Their pies and pastries are my favourite - try the pain au chocolat and veggie homebaked pies. They’re amazing

    Riverton
    Making everything by hand and in the bakery every morning, The Postmaster has mastered all things gluten. You’ll go crazy for the lamingtons and coffee, I certainly do!

    World famous in Southland, Kaye’s has been churning out hearty baked goods for as long as I can remember. Fresh baked sandwich rolls? Tick. Cream buns? Tick. Little meat pies? Tick! This place has it all.

    My favourite bakery in Hokitika, Stone Oven is the best at baking bread, pastries and donuts. If you’re after a quick bite to eat then grab a tasty sandwich or pie. They’re delicious!

    Westport
    I love cake and I love Rainbow Cake Kitchen! Don’t worry, not all the cakes are rainbow coloured (just the one!) but expect a whole array of delicious flavours of cake. My favourite is the chocolate cake, of course!

    Village Bakers
    Hokitika
    At Village Bakers they make amazing pies, sandwiches and pastries - expect a carb overload here! Try the venison pie or the lamingtons, they’ll blow your mind. They did mine!

    Okay so not a bakery but their baked goods are good enough to make this list! Their sandwiches are made using bread baked fresh on site. The muffins are ridiculously good too - try the raspberry and white chocolate ones, yum!
