    New on the Christchurch food and wine scene, Boo Radley’s is a romantic lounge with great service and delicious Southern American cuisine. I love this place for it’s secret location and professional-sized pool table. The tapas are hearty and are a steal at approx $10 each!

    By the owners of Engineers bar right next door, Merchants on St Asaph Street is quickly becoming a local favourite. Serving up tasty morsels alongside popular beers, wines and cocktails, this place is pretty darn neat. Head along with a group of pals for a guaranteed fun night out.

    The latest food offering in Christchurch to grace the central city, Mexico is packed every night of the week of revelers enjoying the friendly service, amazing Mexican food and margaritas. The large space means that everyone has access to a table, so you won’t be turned away at the door!

    Enjoy fresh fish and chips, the Hokitika way. Dulcies serves up large servings of hot chips and seafood. This is a very popular little fish and chip shop. Head along any night of the week and get to know the locals.

    I love Stumpers! This is a great dining option in Hokitika if you’re feeling hungry and seeking tasty fresh seafood. The outdoor seating area is sundrenched (when it’s not raining!) and the fireside couch is often always taken (darn!). A must try is the beer battered or pan grilled blue cod.

    Greymouth Sunday Markets
    Greymouth
    If you’re in Greymouth in the weekends, head to Greymouths Farmers Market. Get yourself some affordable fresh fish and seafood from the stallholders. Head along and pick up a week’s worth of fish and then head back the following weekend to restock!

    Theos has been around in Christchurch for over half a century. What does this mean to you? That these guys are experts when it comes to delivering fresh seafood. Their presentation of quality local seafood is excellent, and the range is second-to-none. The locally caught range is excellent for your lunch or dinner!

    A restaurant overlooking the Port of Lyttelton, Fishermans Wharf specialises in fresh fish for your lunch, dinner or snack. Dine inside or out and enjoy the spectacular views of this working port. The fish and chips are my fave in Lytelton!

    Fancy yourself a tailor-made crispy pie, risotto of saffron braised fennel and lemon linguini? Well, you’re culinary needs will be satisfied at Fiddlesticks. This stylish restaurant is an excellent place to eat and drink. Go see for yourself!

    The Little Bistro

    A mainstay of the Akaroa restaurant scene since 2009, Little Bistro is my favourite place to dine for a few reasons: I love the small and intimate space, the staff are friendly, attentive and French, and the food is superb! I can never go past the spinach, pea, pea, broadbean and Barry’s Bay blue cheese with Blair’s leaves risotto. Yum!

    If you’re thinking breakfast think Drexels. This is a dedicated breakfast restaurant, so expect the usual faves like eggs benedict, sausages, bacon and pancakes. My favourites are the crepes! Go by yourself or head along with a group of friends and grab one of the large booths.

    Another favourite of mine, Chingwag is a Thai fusion restaurant. The meals are mouth-watering and the cocktails are off the chain! If you’re thinking Thai then this place should be high on your list! A must try are the fresh spring rolls … delish.

    Who doesn’t love Mexican food? Del Sol is quite possibly the largest restaurants in Dunedin and one of the most frequented. Two for one Tuesdays are a massive night out. My favourite meal from Del Sol (although it’s hard to choose just one!) are the soft shelled tacos!

    This Cromwell winery and restaurant is one of my favourite places to dine in Otago. The mains and desserts are epic - . the orange creme brulee with slivers of caramelised orange zest and biscotti is ridiculously good!

    Not only a wine company, but Amisfield is also a fabulous bistro. The impressive venue is superb for weddings, large group lunches or a romantic date. The salt cod gnocchi with clams and lovely cabbage and caraway dumplings is a highlight!

    A modern French bistro in the heart of Wanaka, Bistro Gentil serves up the classics including beef fillet with oxtail ravioli, shiitake and oyster mushrooms. The restaurant is beautifully decked out with mid-century furniture and lovely furnishings.

    Botswana Butchery is famous for steak. BB is some lovely outdoor and indoor dining and is the place to go when you want to impress a date. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it - spend the whole evening enjoying the main meals and cocktails!
