- 21The PreservatoryChristchurch CentralFor Greek salads, potato and bacon salads and all sorts of other seasonal salads then look no further than The Preservatory! This Holmwood Road hangout is a favourite for yummy mummys and retired folk - good luck trying to find a seat!
- 31The Shilling ClubFendaltonIf you like chicken Caesar salad then you’ll like The Shilling Club. A great place to eat and drink and to be found at the University of Canterbury. This bar / restaurant is a great student hot spot and is a little high on the price side but worth it!

- 11Scotts BeachKarameaFor amazing views and seascapes, visit Scotts Beach in Karamea. The excluded beach is never busy so you’ll no doubt have the place to yourself. Great for camping or just a day trip with a packed lunch, this is a great wee beach. Take a walk on the long swing bridge or walk high up on the hill for spectacular views below.
- 22Okarito Lagoon and BeachOkaritoOkarito Lagoon is New Zealand’s largest unmodified wetland. Pretty cool, right? Take some binoculars with you so you can spot some rare wading birds and other wildlife, even kiwi! There are some tours you can partake in to like eco and kayak tours.
- 32Gillespies BeachFox GlacierGillespies Beach has some pretty great views of the Southern Alps. There’s a historic cemetery to explore and whole load of coastal walks. The old gold mining settlement and seal colony are also great attractions. There’s a lot to love about this beach!

Not amazing for surfing, sometimes the swell is worth a shot. Take a walk along the famous pier and partake in some dining at a few of the great Brighton restaurants near to the beach.
