Humbug Cafe has become a firm favourite with West Auckland locals and it's not hard to see why.
There are two separate areas in the cafe - one a child-friendly space with vintage toys and comfortable couches, and the other a large dining area featuring retro furnishings and quirky wall art.
A changing menu features organic and fair-trade brunch classics-with-a-twist (the French toast with butterscotch is a highlight), as well as a heaving cabinet full of delicious options mean that there's plenty to try here. Great Millers coffee too.

It can be hard to find the divine brew that is Millers Coffee in West Auckland, which is why Glen Eden’s Humbug Cafe is one of my favourites. Millers have been brewing from Cross Street in town since 1988 and the blend has remained unchanged because it is honestly that good. Humbug Cafe is a great spot to go in the morning to catch the sunshine and sip on a smooth flat white.
My local favourite, there are two things you NEED to know about Humbug. 1: The beer-battered french fries are the most perfect chip experience in Auckland, possibly the world. 2: Any special occasion can always be improved by adding a slice of Humbug cheesecake. Or three. This perfect neighbourhood cafe is worth travelling to - especially if you love fries and want to taste the very best.
Humbug is an awesome local cafe. Its often busy, showing how popular it is, but the staff are always friendly and willing to help you find a table (especially nice when you have 2 toddlers attached to your legs!). You can go for a coffee and relax on the couches while your little ones play or go for a delicious feed. Always good!
