Best Healthy Takeaways

    Revive Lorne Street
    Auckland Central
Revive is salad heaven, as this cafe truly elevates the humble salad to the next level, and with a menu that changes weekly there is always something new and tasty to try. Although Revive serve a lot more than salad, with their hotpots and frittatas firm favourites too and they are constantly experimenting with new vegetarian and vegan dishes that often end up in their popular cookbooks as well. The best part is they're open until 8pm Monday to Thursday so you can easily stop on your way home to get a healthy dinner.

    Wise Cicada
    Newmarket
Wise Cicada is the place to go if you want to eat and shop healthy, with a fantastic range of fresh fruit and veges and every health food ingredient you can think of on the shelves. Their cafe is super popular and has an ever changing menu that includes; salads, wraps, curries and a great selection of treats. I love the raw brownie and can't resist getting a delicious smoothie to take away either. This is the perfect place to treat your vegetarian or vegan friends too.

    Zest Health
    Devonport
A delicious healthy haven on the North Shore, Zest is a fantastic vegetarian find that serves some of the freshest salads and juices in town. The cafe and store stock all kinds of organic and healthy treats including some tasty bliss balls and raw cupcakes, they cater for a range of dietary needs too. Once you're done shopping, grab a wrap or a smoothie and go for a walk around Devonport's scenic little village.

Leading the way in the local raw food movement is Little Bird. Everything that comes out of the kitchen here is made of raw, organic ingredients that make you feel good, not to mention the food is really delicious too. If you're in a rush grab a takeaway salad or if you're there early get a great breakfast bowl, which is the perfect way to start the day. I can never resist grabbing some handmade macaroons or cheesecake either, they're unbelievably tasty and you feel much less guilty for indulging in something that is still good for you. If you're keen to try raw cooking at home they do a fantastic cookbook with everything you need to know about their style of food and it has great recipes too.

It's no surprise that Bird On A Wire has built up a cult following in the two and a half years it's been on Ponsonby Road, their chicken is just that good. Although they do great burgers and sandwiches, it's the fantastic fresh salads that you can have with or without chicken that are a stand out for me. I love the Japanese slaw with miso dressing and the beetroot and carrot salad with maple dressing, although all of their salads are delicious. I usually choose a mix of my favourite three salads on the day and add a little of their tasty chicken for a perfect lunch or dinner takeaway.

Best places to go organic, natural or free range

Ceres Market at Ponsonby Central is one of my favourite places to shop for fresh produce, especially as there is always something unique to take home and add to your pantry and their fresh squeezed juices are amongst the best in town. They also always have the likes of kale and kefir available to keep all the green foodies happy.
  2. 2

Kokako offers up some of the best brunch options in town, all vegetarian, some vegan and many gluten free. Meat lovers will barely know the difference though as the flavours are so fresh and tasty, and they even do kid sized portions if you’ve got small people on board. My fave is the organic hash (above) with the porridge coming a close second.
  3. 3
    38
The meaty morsels on offer at FARRO Albany have to be amongst the best in town. Great specials and a dazzling array of sausages too… most definitely a meat lover’s dream and well worth a trip over the bridge.
  4. 4
    6
The Waterview Coffee Project is not your ordinary cafe - it is in a shipping container for starters! It was actually conceived as a way to get the suburb’s locals together and to keep them caffeinated, and has become a social hub since the moment it opened its doors. Barista Corey is one of the best in town too, so even if you’re not from Waterview I recommend a trip.

The Gluten Free Grocer on Mount Eden Road was a godsend for my gluten free and gluten intolerant friends from the moment it opened its doors. They supply bakery-type products to restaurants and cafes as well as in store, and their staff are a wealth of information if you’re new to gluten free life. Their prices are great too, and often way below the average supermarket.

Farro’s is a one stop shop for all your household food needs. The bakery, fish counter and butchery are all second to none and the prices competitive. For the record the crab legs are currently on special.

Ripe Delicatessen is a great spot to drop by and grab lunch from. The salads are sophiaticated and a treat to eat, the meat is always tender and well cooked and the coffee is consistent. Price is pretty good and the portion size (if you’re served by the right person) is plentiful. Pictured is the raw beetroot salad, a grain salad and a small serving of salmon. All were great and the best thing was that I felt like the food was doing my body a world of good. Recommended.

Grey Lynn’s Farmville is a good one stop shop for fruit and vegetables if you need to pick up some fresh produce on the run. There isn’t a huge selection but the produce is always tasty and the staff exceedingly helpful. A good go to if you’re in the city and need some freshness!

Harvest Wholefoods is a great little store in the heart of Grey Lynn that specialises in natural, organic and gluten free foods. My girlfriend suffers from a number of food allergies so we often pop in here to pick up supplies, The Little Bird gluten free treats being a specific weakness of hers. The store stocks a whole range of other products including gluten free pastries, a large bulk bin section, eco-friendly cleaning products and organic fruit and vegetables. The staff are all extremely helpful and full of good advice on what products contain.

Wild Wheat know bread, and they also take bread pretty seriously. Having been voted by Metro as the best bread since 2004 you know that they’re doing something right. Thre is a fantastic range to choose from ranging from sourdoughs to brioche and gluten free options. I got the bread of the month which was quinoa and apricot loaf. It was a flvoursome loaf with chunks of apricot scattered throughout the loaf matched with crunch of that in vogue grain quinoa. Delicious.

It's a personalised service with a knowledgable, likeable and skilled business owner who is very passionate about their profession! Dear Angela, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for taking such a thorough professional and detailed approach to my appointment with you. I have had some concerns about a couple of teeth and you gave me incredible insight in your assessment of my mouth health and teeth along with correctly diagnosing the current issues. You gave me complete confidence in your abilities through your professionalism and your passion, experience and philosophies. Thankyou, I feel I am in the right place to have my dentistry handled with care and genuine concern. I really value this especially as I am now travelling further into my forties! I can see with only a few problem areas highlighted I now know I will receive the right care and attention to resolve these and most importantly it’s great to become educated and realise that I can influence and limit any on-going future issues and expense. I would have no hesitation in recommending your practice based on my refreshing experience and will definitely refer my friends and family. Cheers Richard Richard Lyne Real Estate - Ray White Remuera

Anibolx Taxicabs are truly critical. Thus, these shouldn’t be totally killed from your eating routine at any rate. Devouring 50-60 extra grams of protein every day, and the admission of amino acids at 10-20 grams for each day ought to for the most part be fine. A definitive approach to do this is by including green verdant vegetables, as these help you get your required calorie mean a day without giving you increasingly that you require. http://www.beaufitreviews.com/anibolx/
